Dont confuse b/w theory and practicals mommy!
Ashu is always singing "Brush your teeth twice a day, take your bath early every day........" . One wud think when u teach the child what she should learn in the form of a song or a rhyme she wudnt fuss to do it. But no......my daughter seems like she wants to keep theory and practicals independent of each other! She simply hates to brush her teeth and take her bath everyday......(Must we do it everyday???)
I try telling her eating a certain thing is good for health or she would grow tall or become strong etc..... she retorts back..seems like she's saying i dont want to buy all that "healthy" crap u r trying to teach me mommy...i just dont want to eat it/drink(the milk!). She is mesmerised by the "CLinic Plus" shampoo ad where the girl says "inta podugu" and now wants to grow her hair long.......I tried selling the concept to her and make her drink milk......IT SIMPLY DOESNT work.........:(
You ask me what works most of the time, and all the OSCARS go to The "TOM AND JERRY" Show!!!!!!!!Bless the Warner Bros for making such an excellent cartoon.....i enjoy them toooooo and my work gets done...with interludes whenever there is a COMMERCIAL BREAK.....Common we must have a break toooooo......
Since we cannot have the CN people airing the "T&J" Show all the time, the second thing i resort to is the good old, time tested "story telling"...Its time to put my creativity to test and so i begin weaving stories about the people she meets everyday....like her friends, teachers, cousins etc..or people she may not get to meet everyday......like animals in the jungle......
Its Fun.......I say with kids....though it might get a little frustrating at times..but i have discovered a new me in my daughter and I LOVE HER FOR THAT....
