MAMA MIA!

For quite some time now, I noticed Ashu and her friends started playing "Mummy and Daddy" One of them becomes the Mother, another the Daddy, the quietest of them the Kiddo, another bossy lady turns into a sister etc. The two little girls who are always bossing around don the role of the mother and the sister and victimize the quiet little lamb of the group who has to play the role of the family's Child! The kid is pestered into drinking milk, eating food and forced to go to bed etc., Worst of all, he is not allowed to open his mouth and protest! The girls have it all their way and the Daddy acts like he is the Head of the family while it is the ladies who hold the remote control. Its fun to watch them play. Sometimes you actually see many scenes that actually happened being repeated there and then it is your turn to be either astonished or enlightened or embarrassed and even correct yourself. Mama Mia Indeed!

CHILD-THE FATHER OF MAN

Its taken almost two months for me to publish a new post !!! And imagine I had very passionately started this new blog in Akshara's name. Guess I missed out a lot of interesting things I wanted to publish here in my blog. But the fact remains that my office work kept me too busy to follow my regular pursuits-weight loss regime and blogging. Both have taken a back seat these 45 days and my lately re-acquired heftiness stands testimony to the fact. Busy office work also has another victim, my patience. As I metioned in my previous post, you require tons & tons of this virtue to bear up with all that the kids do.An ounce less of patience will get your blood pressure soaring high and you will land up messing up the moment. Patience on the othe hand can reverse the effect. All that nagging that children do is enjoyable when you are relaxed and not pre-occupied with work related tensions. You are better able to handle their tantrums, their endless line of questions and hyper energ...

Dont confuse b/w theory and practicals mommy!

Ashu is always singing "Brush your teeth twice a day, take your bath early every day........" . One wud think when u teach the child what she should learn in the form of a song or a rhyme she wudnt fuss to do it. But no......my daughter seems like she wants to keep theory and practicals independent of each other! She simply hates to brush her teeth and take her bath everyday......(Must we do it everyday???) I try telling her eating a certain thing is good for health or she would grow tall or become strong etc..... she retorts back..seems like she's saying i dont want to buy all that "healthy" crap u r trying to teach me mommy...i just dont want to eat it/drink(the milk!). She is mesmerised by the "CLinic Plus" shampoo ad where the girl says "inta podugu" and now wants to grow her hair long.......I tried selling the concept to her and make her drink milk......IT SIMPLY DOESNT work.........:( You ask me what works most of the time, and all ...
