little snippets

uf....its been so long and i have been craving to write certain things...

I.The first goes like this. Morning Akshara woke up early with a doubt in her little mind. She asked me, amma what do you call a bottle in english. I broke into a laugh. I told her bottle is an english word and a more equivalent word in telugu would be something like a "dabba" (I am open for corrections)(PS: It occured to me in the morning that bottle is actually called a sisa only if it is made of glass). and yes dabba more correctly means a container. But this is as accurate as i could get.

II. The Second one is on our trip to the Zoo. Akshara's trip to the Zoo was memorable, more for me than her. I have been longing to take her to the zoo and finally we made it. The animals were lazing on a sunday afternoon and looked the least bit interested in their onlookers. We were all excited to have seen them but they gave us something like"to darn with you" looks.

And yes the monkeys. Children and adults were going all gaga about the monkeys. There was huge crowd at the monkeys spot. There was this one old monkey looking nonchalantly at us and munching on some twig. Akshara yelled out..mama look at the monkey. It thinks we are its TV and is munching on its food looking at US...its TV. OMG i broke out into a laughter and couldnt wait to share it with Chaitanya.

Then the elephants. There were all these huge elephants and Akshara was obviously looking for a baby elephant. She was disappointed on not finding one and just sighed...Why at all dint these big elephants give birth to a little elephant?(read..Like my mom and dad did.Obviously, every family is supposed to be having a little baby like me) Oh my darling! how she missed a baby elephant!

III. Now for the third one. One day, Mama bought her a kitchen set and she was all excited about her gift. Mama and daughter played the kitchen game till late in the night. Mama was feeling sleepy but not the little one. I suggested :lets wrap up the game baby. We have been playing for too long. She was obviously dejected and pat came the answer: even you spend so long in the kitchen. Why not me? (Her father absolutely liked this!) As you can guess,  we continued the game for a little longer before hitting the sack.

My cute little darling. Just love you for making our lives so much fun.

I liked the bit on "the animals were lazing on a Sunday afternoon"... It should hv started as "Even the animals were... ".... :) As if they hv to report for work on Monday morning... The kid's remark on "we being its TV" was amazing one, thats quite some multiple-perspective-thinking ! When the car honks at the dog on the road or the birds perch atop buildings, they must be thinking "Oh these humans, they encroached into our area and built all their infrastructure"... It must be tough living with humans, for the rest of the folks...
